Never Alone

tonygilotte5

one of my greatest fears in isolation. Not solitude, I am good with that, I need time to myself. Isolation however, is very different. This is disconnection, aloneness, separation, and at least for me, this is something I recoil from, even to the point of harm or neglecting my own needs because of fear of isolation.

Fear of isolation can cause me to appease when I should take a stand, or be passive when I should be assertive, or neglect my well being for the sake of perceived safety.

To embrace our aloneness, we can start by realizing we are never really alone. Though we do come into this world as a single individual soul and leave this world the same, we never actually, even in isolation, are alone.

The story from the passage below finds Elisha, a great prophet, reminding his student of this. His student is panicked about a current situation in which he feels isolated and surrounded by unsafety and has no idea how to address his predicament.

Elisha prays and asked for his spiritual eyes to be opened so that he might see the reality of spiritual support encircling him. My passion and sense of calling is to do the same for you, ( so I need to be reminded myself).

We are not alone and vulnerable to attack or obliteration at any moment as we often think. We are actually surrounded by a universe that conspires for our good and a host of dynamic spiritual presence.

This can be seen and felt if we are open to it, and the prayer I am offering today for myself and for you, is that our inner vision will be awakened that we might see this.

What will come in place of fear and desperation, is peace, love, strength and a deep awareness that separation is a myth. You and I are truly never alone.

with love,

Tony Gilotte
