There is this place that we sometimes are forced to traverse in our lives. This place where we are on a razor-thin edge of hope and all around us are reasons not to, reasons to give up or give in to doubt and fear.
In my life, I happen to be dealing with circumstances that are creating this kind of experience for me. I have been, as many of you maybe have also, looking over the edge, into the darkness and it is not a nice place.
We must be brave, and not give in to despair or fear. Holding out hope is our path forward through the dark places. It may seem easier to give up, to give in to despair, doubt, or fear. Trust me, it is not. It is a dark place, one that is hard to come out of when you go in.
Hope is a better place to be, for yourself, and for those who need you to be strong, and to move forward, and to find a way, and to see if the impossible can happen. It is ok to feel like you can't see your way forward. But I plead with you, don't use that as a reason to give in to the darkness.
The edge of hope is a real place. I know because I am here now. It is beautiful and scary at the same time. I share this because I have always trusted that my transparency might help someone else find their way, that is just who I am and how I show up in the world. If you are here too, we're not alone.
in hope,
Tony
